Advertise with us Here

Going by the information earlier provided by JAMB, the proposed Mock examination for 2017 prospective UTME candidates will hold Saturday April 8th, 2017. That's a week from now.

According to a recent information released by JAMB, over 300,000 candidates have already indicated interest to sit for the Mock examination.

The purpose of the Mock examination is to give candidates an idea of what the actual UTME will look like considering the new technology JAMB has put in place.

I think it is advisable for candidates to take the Mock examination as it will serve as a confidence booster during the actual examination.

We would like to know how many Myschoolers are taking the Mock examination. Do you think it is necessary? For those that won't be taking the examination, what are your reasons? Please share with us.

On behalf of the Management and staff of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, I happily welcome participants to this Strategic Planning Retreat on the Structure of Supervision and Evaluation of the Conduct of the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
When we sent out invitation to you and gave you a very short notice, we were skeptical on your finding time out of your tight schedules to honour our invitation.

However, this large turnout has further confirmed our identification and choice of you as critical stakeholders with genuine and undiluted interest in this Nation’s education sector in general and in its assessment and evaluation sub-sector in particular where the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board plays a major role. I therefore thank you and appreciate your presence here today.

Before I go further, please permit me to pay tributes to my illustrious predecessors in office. We pray that the soul of Mr. Michael S. Angulu continue to enjoy eternal rest. Mr. Angulu as the first Registrar of the Board laid the foundation on which his successors have continued to build on. I salute Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman, OON for the strong pillars built on the initial foundation and for the strong commitment at domesticating and internalizing various major activities that were hitherto carried out abroad.

I congratulate Professor Bello A. Salim, OFR for the various innovations introduced into the system and for starting online activities, particularly in the registration process and the introduction of external monitors in the conduct of the Board’s examination. I commend Professor Adedibu Ojerinde, OON for taking the bull by the horn with the introduction of the Computer Based Test (CBT) to replace the Paper and Pencil Test (PPT) in the administration of the Board’s examination.

I am not unmindful of the acting tenures of Dr. Saleh Abubakar and Dr. Peter I. Odor for which they are all commended. There are many retired Directors of the Board who have been invited to this Retreat and who have graciously honoured us with their attendance. I congratulate you all and others who are not here on your modest efforts. You have all served your fatherland meritoriously and the Nation is proud of you.

2.0 IDEALS OF THE JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD
On my assumption of office as the fifth (5th) Registrar of the Board, I pledged to revisit and revamp the original ideals of those who thought it most appropriate to have a body like this Board and to pursue with vigour and passion their original objectives. I therefore salute the vision of the Vice-Chancellors of the then six (6) Universities who introduced the idea of synergy of their mandate in the areas of entrance examination and admission into the few universities that the Nation had.

If synergy, peer review, cost saving, elimination of wastage, collaboration, cooperation and enhancement of academic excellence were identified and recorgnised then with only six Universities, these salient attributes, ideas and ideals are now more than ever before the basic of all requirements that are most critical for the integration and cohesion of the Nation’s Tertiary Education.

Though a lot of water has passed under the bridge between 1977 and today, the idea of inclusiveness is still as germane today as it was many years back. This is why between August 2016 when I assumed duties and this month, March, 2017, a period of eight months, I have visited various Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, where
I have met with the Management of the various institutions in order to renew and restrengthen our relationship and partnership. The Managements of the Board has also met with the Committee of Vice-Chancellors, Committee of Rectors and Committee of Provosts. We have equally met with the Management of National Universities Commission (NUC) and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). We have taken the Board’s major events and activities to the Bayero Uni

JAMB 2017 Exam Duration Might Be Reduced, Questions To Be Uploaded In 5Mins

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board [JAMB] has dislosed to the general public that it might likely reduce the examination duration of the 2017 UTME from the initial 3hours to 2hours.

The Registrar while briefing invited personnels in Kaduna on Wednesday said that “As for the 2017 UTME, it is likely we reduce the duration of the examinations.

We are looking at two hours for the examinations instead of the present three-hour timeline. This is in line with international best practices.

“As for the candidates, for their age, the maximum time they can sit for examinations is two hours. Even in terms of international standard, for primary school pupils, the maximum time for examinations is between 45minutes and one hour.”

He added that the question papers will be uploaded five minutes to the examinations to check malpractice

SUMMARY OF THE BOOK "IN DEPENDENCE"
Tayo Ajayi, a Nigerian, and Vanessa Richardson, an English lady, had their affair boiling when it began, however as circumstances have been meant to intervene, the connection went sore and it appeared nothing may ever carry them collectively.

The book (In dependence) has characters that behaved in like-patterns, like within the case of Tayo’s pal, Yusuf, who had dated tons of white English women.

He (Yusuf) ended up marrying a Nigerian Lady as predicted (Yusuf knew what he needed and appeared to get it).

Tayo additionally ended up the identical method in as a lot as his affair with Vanessa Richardson had been gleaming, though he had been out of the error of getting a younger lady (Miriam) pregnant.

And speaking of sample, the novel’s (In dependence) starting had opened up introducing Tayo’s affair with Christine, a Nigerian Igbo woman. One would suppose that Manyika needed to finish Tayo’s relationship with Christine for the sake of bringing in Vanessa into Tayo’s life, however nonetheless, Tayo needed to find yourself marrying Miriam. And nonetheless the wedding failed, giving in to the acquainted sample.

Miriam in Manyika’s novel (In dependence) represented the breeds of the Nigerians that may all the time run away to reside overseas because of the collapsing picture of their dwelling nation.

Miriam went away together with her daughter leaving Tayo behind. In as a lot as she persuaded Tayo, he wouldn’t go. She didn’t like an inconveniencing life. She needed the perfect life for her daughter.

Tayo, on the opposite facet represented the crude breeds of Nigerians that felt dwelling was dwelling despite the fact that the nation was boiling in corruption. In as a lot because the failure of the nation stared firmly at his face with daggers, he selected to remain.

In direction of the late pages of the novel he needed to depart the nation underneath threatening circumstances towards his life from the ruling navy regime.

The complete novel is informed from the great days of Nigeria’s independence down into the nineties. I applaud Manyika’s ink, right here. In as a lot because the setting of this novel floated by way of England, Senegal, USA, and France, she was ready to make use of her third eye to attract out Nigeria’s journey into the more serious lanes of corruption, and hopelessness.

Religion is one other situation that Manyika (In dependence) handled. It didn’t matter to her if one was a Muslim or Christian.
Studying by way of this novel, one couldn’t inform if Tayo got here from a Muslim or Christian household however we did know he embraced extra of the Christian religion. She didn’t level out the difficulties of inter-religious marriages within the novel (In dependence), however centred extra on the difficulties of interracial marriage.

Throughout Tayo’s life as an element time lecturer in Sans Francisco, the creator used a scene to unbolt some deeper points of racism.

She identified the racist ties between the African American and the pure African. These points she raised apply in all places even inside Nigerians.

A Yoruba would check with an Igbo as a grasping cash monger and doubtful monster, and in flip the Igbo would check with the Yoruba as a unclean, loquacious and silly character who spend all he earns on events and alcohol. It needed to be understood that racism was one these existences that may reside for a very long time so far as misunderstanding between folks existed.

I captured traces which are coated with humour on this novel, however might be referred to as racial remarks. Younger black Yusuf got here clear in his dialog with Tayo. He mentioned white ladies have been for intercourse treats whereas black ladies have been for respectable relationships that would result in marriage. He added white lady regarded so previous when she turned thirty.
The worst racist on this e-book (In dependence) is Vanessa’s father who was a one time colonial grasp in Nigeria earlier

Author Of Last Days at Forcados High School To Sue JAMB For Conspiracy

Advertise with Us Here

The author of Last Days at Forcados High School, Dr. Ayobami Hanif Mohammed, is planning to sue JAMB and the Cassava Republic Press for conspiring to violate his copyrights.

The book, written by Mohammed in 2006 as a student of University of Lagos (UNILAG) was in 2014 accepted by JAMB as the official handbook for candidates in the Use of English on the recommendation of Fafunwa Educational Foundation.

The Publisher, Ms Bibi Bakare-Yusuf, was said to have signed an agreement with JAMB on behalf of the author for the book to be used between 2014 and 2017. Terms and conditions for the contract was agreed upon and signed by the parties concerned.

However, trouble started when the publisher after signing agreement with JAMB in 2014, turned round to request from Mohammed a lower royalty which the author refused on the premise that the fresh proposal was a violation of the initial contract.
According to him, his refusal to accept the offer and other issues arising resulted in his book being replaced by JAMB with another book from the same publisher as the recommended text for 2017 UTME candidates.

This got him infuriated, and is planning to initiate legal proceedings against the publisher and JAMB.
When contacted, JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin said, “We had an understanding with Cassava Republic, not the author. I don’t even know the author. The copies we are using for the direct entry candidates are the books we paid for last year, except the author wants us to return it so he would refund our money.”

On the sudden change of the book to the new one after persuasion by the registrar failed, he said, I’m not privy to the meeting with the registrar, like I said earlier; we had an understanding with the publisher not the author..

JAMB O' Level / UTME Subjects Requirements To Consider Before Choosing A Course

Advertise with Us Here

The 2017 UTME registration is expected to commence soon. Already, many candidates are eagerly waiting for the announcement. However, only a few have taken time to decide on the course of study to apply for.

In deciding a course of study, there are few things you should bear in mind;

First, you need to consider if you have interest or academic aptitude for the course you wish to apply for..... Continue reading after this commercial break

Another is, to verify if the course you intend to study is offered in the institution you are applying to. You are also to verify the accreditation status of that course in such institution.

Most importantly, you need to verify if you meet the O’level and UTME Subjects requirements for that particular course.
Each course of study has a specific O’level and UTME Subjects requirements you must meet before you are admitted to study that course. What works for an Engineering course won’t work for a medical course.

Many UTME Candidates often make the mistake of choosing a course that they do not meet the requirements for during UTME registration. Thereby disqualifying themselves of admission from the onset. No school can admit you to study a course you do not have the requirements for.

Even if your name appears on the admission list, you will be disqualified during the screening, verification or clearance process.

Like I mentioned earlier, the UTME registration for 2017 is yet to commence. If I were you, this is the time I would use to make the decision concerning which course of study to choose when the registration begins.

It will show you the courses available in each higher institution, the O’level and UTME Subject combination or requirements for the courses.

If you are still a bit confused about the O’level requirements of the course you wish to study in any institution. You can post the institution, course, your O’level subjects and UTME Subjects you intend to sit for.

Enlightened Ay2muchSchoolers will help you determine if you are good to go or not.

Goodluck!

Report has it that up to 20,000 candidates have register for the ongoing 2017 UTME registration that commenced on Monday.

This was disclosed by JAMB's spokesperson Dr Fabian Benjamin

However, it was learnt that some of the accredited centres in Lagos are yet to commence registration as at yesterday due to lack of JAMB access code.

Reacting to this, the spokesperson of JAMB, Dr Benjamin said the information that candidates were finding it difficult to register in the accredited centres in Lagos was strange. ‘’I am not aware that UTME centres in Lagos are finding it difficult to register." He said.

Big One!! Don Jazzy Set To Sign Big Brother Naija “Debbie Rise” Into Mavin Records, After Hearing This…

After Mavin Records signed 4 new acts; DNA twins, POE and John Drille, it is reported that Don Jazzy has eye for another act, in the person of Big Brother Naija’s Debie Rise.

The musician who is currently one of the housemates in the show is an unsigned act after parting ways with her former label. She is one to look out for and has caught the eye of the boss of Mavins crew.

Reports suggest that, Don Jazzy, after hearing Debie Rise’s recently released single, “No Cunny Cunny” and her melodious un-edited voice in BBNaija show, took a liking to her and is considering putting pen to paper with her management.

Indeed, this will be a good step for Debbie Rise! Hopefully, this will pull through but we are unsure if there is any other label competing with Mavins crew to secure her signature.

More details coming soon.

Congratulations to Debie Rise. I wish her the best in her musical career.

Even though some moral hypocrites keep condemning the BBN show, the fact is, the show offers a platform for talented individuals to excel and fulfil their dreams.

5 reasons Nigerian pastors visit native doctors for charms

Written by Thatyorubadude

We have heard stories of pastors using diabolical means to make their churches to flourish.

Sometime ago, a certain pastor identified as Stephen Maduabuchi was allegedly caught trying to bury charm ahead of his church's crusade.

Last year, a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) pastor identified as Moses Abiodun who was arrested for burying something suspected to be human head inside his church.

Several others have been caught in the same situation. It is quite unfortunate that the church is full of deceit.

We live in world where there is so much deceit and falsehood. The pastors want to impress their members who have high expectations.

Nigerians love quick-fixes to everything and that is why some pastors will go to any length to get powers even if they have to dine with the devil just to please people.

You might be wondering why these men that claim to be called sometimes decide to resort to using charms. The reasons are:

1. To attract more members and keep them

More members mean more money. With more money, they can afford to live comfortably. Some pastors will do anything to attract a large crowd even if they have to sell their souls to the devil.

2. For more money

An average popular church in Nigeria holds like four services every Sunday and offerings are received in all services. You can even give offerings online these days. Some pastors are more interested in making money than winning souls. Financial pledges have now become the essence behind most sermons. These pastors know how to use their sermons to coerce members into dropping more money.

3. For fame

These days, some pastors are more interested in being famous than doing the work of God. They do not know where to draw the line between advancing the preacher and advancing the gospel. They just want to drive flashy cars, live in mansions and travel round the world not caring whether their members are hungry.

4. To perform signs and wonders

Nigerians have become so blinded with miracles that they do not see when things are not right. Most people go to church for miracles and that is why you will see thousands flocking those churches that perform all sorts of miracles even raising the dead.

Since Nigerians are so religious and believe so much in miracles, pastors have keyed in on this and some are making millions from it. Some Nigerians can be so gullible. How can someone ask you to pay millions for a miracle, don’t you read your Bible? Have you found anywhere in the Bible where Jesus asked for money before he healed someone?

5. To meet up with expectations

Most people fail to realize that pastors are also humans. They expect them to be able to solve all their problems, heal all diseases and call down money from heaven. For this reason, some pastors will seek diabolical means to help them meet up with the expectations of their members.

How to Gently Deflower a Girl

Written by Thatyorubadude

First times can be difficult, but that shouldn’t stop you from  Having Sex if the time is Right!!
There’s always a first time for everything. And if you’re a guy, you may be one of those “lucky” few who chanced upon someone who will make you their first time. Exciting? Maybe. Big responsibility? Definitely.

devirginizing or deflowering a virgin, can be a very delicate situation for you and her. You’ll have her emotions to consider, as she may feel a special connection with you for choosing you as her first. There’s also the attachment that might follow. After all, you’re her first time, and that’s something she might remember for the rest of her life.

And this brings us to the next point. Since you’re her first time, popping her cherry is so much different from a roll in the hay with someone experienced. There’s going to be pain *and possibly a little blood* involved, as you are going to break that piece of membrane near the opening of her vagina, called the hymen

before you get at it with your girl, consider these tips so that you can gently pop her cherry and welcome her into the beautiful, sensational, and pleasurable world of sex.

#1 No pressure. Losing her virginity can be a big step for her. As for you, being the guy to accomplish the mission, it can be a lot to deal with, too. Therefore, don’t put any pressure on her or yourself. Talk about it and mentally prepare yourselves for the moment. If planning THE day will give you any reassurance, do so. The important this is that you’re both comfortable with the idea and relaxed enough *when the time comes* to have a successful, memorable experience

#2 Is she really ready? Make sure it’s not a spur-of-the-moment decision, or that she’s not just carried away in the moment. If there’s one thing you don’t want her to feel after you pop her cherry, it’s regret, especially if you are in a serious relationship with each other. Also, make sure that she’s not doing it just because you want to. Set things straight and make sure she wants it because she wants it, and she’ll take her own share of accountability in the process

#3 Put her comfort and emotions first. As a virgin about to tread unfamiliar waters concerning her sexuality, she may feel all sorts of mixed feelings. She may be scared, excited, hesitant, happy, prepared, and so many other things. Allow her to sort out her emotions until she’s truly comfortable. Once you come to the moment, you still have to prioritize her comfort and emotions, as this is, again, a big step for her

#4 Consider the time and place. Unless she asks you to take the wheel, let her choose the time and place for where and when she wants to do it. This will make her feel in control and therefore more comfortable. After all, she’s already in knots anticipating the moment, so deciding on a place and time that is comfortable for her might make her feel better. Just remember to keep the place very private and far from distractions. Also consider the time and make sure you are in no hurry to have that first intercourse, as this may probably *and ideally* take up quite some time

UTME Candidates With Awaiting Result Must Submit It Before End Of August

The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board JAMB has emphasized again that candidates awaiting their O'level results can register for the 2017 UTME.

However, according to the Spokesperson of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, awaiting result candidates who fail to upload their results between May and August, would not be confirmed to gain admission into any tertiary institution.

This would enable JAMB to give admission to only qualified candidates who are ready to advance their educational pursuits in tertiary institutions, conserve resources and also provide credible data.

“All candidates who are desirous of tertiary education are to upload their O’ Level result on our website. We don’t want to be giving admissions to candidates that are not qualified to be admitted. It has been discovered over time that most of the times when these candidates are admitted, they don’t meet the requirements.

“You have from May up to August to upload your result. At the point of admission, we would have sieved our records and any candidate who has not uploaded his or her result at that point is not eligible for admission.

“We have a good number of candidates who have written their exams in years past and they have their results ready waiting for this process, we will factor those ones and the few ones that will get their results ready waiting for this process. We are not working for those that will be writing their exams. But if by chance you write your O’ Level examinations and UTME this year and your result is ready, good for you.”

Apostle Suleman heals crippled man at Washington DC crusade (photos)

Founder of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, who is currently in Washington DC for a two day crusade tagged 'Help From Above', which started on Tuesday, March 14, has healed a crippled man.

Suleman who has not allowed the extramarital affair scandal saga stop him from performing his duties as a man of God healed the wheel-chair bound man at the DC crusade.

Apostle Suleman heals crippled man at Washington DC crusade

The man who was seated at the front in the program was prayed for by the man of God before standing up on his feet and started walking on without aid.

The Apostle Suleman extramarital affair scandal started when a Canadian-based singer, Stephanie Otobo, accused him of dumping her after impregnating and promising to marry her.

Crippled man walks again

Otobo held a press conference where she revealed details of their love affair.

She also revealed that Suleman was romantically involved with the Nollywood actress, Danielle Okeke.

However, Suleman denied all allegations against him and urged his church members to desist from defending him because the battle was a spiritual one which he plans to deal with spiritually.

Northern youths support Apostle Suleman, say he his being framed

- The Northern Christian Youth Network (NCYN) has shown its support for Apostle Suleman

- Apostle Johnson Suleman's travails has gained him the support of the NCYN

Apostle Suleman has remained relatively silent over the many accusations of infidelity that have continued to plague him

On Wednesday, March 15, the Northern Christian Youth Network (NCYN), showed its support for the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) Worldwide.

The youths said Apostle Johnson Suleman's travails were politically motivated. Mr Yunana Jacob the NYCN secretary said: “We have no doubt that from the events of the past weeks, that some people are under tremendous pressure to frame Apostle Suleman.”

Ese not only wishes she could do more to help women suffering domestic violence, she would also kill her husband if he beats her.

Obviously pained by the level of domestic violence in the country, fake Big Brother Naija housemate, Eriata Ese,  has declared that she would not fall a victim.
She would kill her husband first.

In an open note to her future husband which she shared via Snapchat a few weeks back, Ese advised her future husband not to be a wife beater because he would have to kill her or be killed.

The housemate who was evicted along with Jon two weeks ago made it clear that she has been blessed with strength just like her husband and she would not stand by and be battered by him.

She wrote, "Dear future husband, just in case you are a woman beater, I just wanna let you know that the day you raise your hand on me; two options, "either you kill me or I kill you".

"God has blessed me with strength like yours so I won't fail to explore... ok bye"

Arguably the biggest rapper to emanate from western Nigeria, Olamide oozes out a lot of inspiration for “boys in the hood”. He happens to be one of the most consistent Nigerian artistes out there, churning out albums regularly in the past five years.

Hardly anything is known or heard about Olamide’s love life except that he has a son. The “Pepper Dem” crooner gave a few inside on his “love life” and his motivation over the last couple of years.

Olamide had a rather hilarious thing to say about his love life.

“I’ve actually been in a relationship for about 17 years now. As a matter of fact, she’s the most important reason I am where I am today. Her name is music.”

When asked about his driving force, Baddoo didn’t hold back as he revealed what keeps him pushing and motivated.

“My major motivation comes from knowing that I came from the bottom, and I don’t want to go back there. I want to live a good life, and because of that, my working life is a relentless  grind. I don’t want to go broke, and I don’t want anybody to look down on me. I’m still on top of my game because I don’t see myself as everything. I take advice from my mum, manager, and label mates, and they always help. They’re responsible for some of my ideas. Some things that people see and think is all about Baddo is actually their brainwork.”

Speaking further, he said, “I didn’t start out to be an average artiste, I wanted to stand out. Right now, I’m living my dreams. All I can say is that my life right now is a dream come true.”
